Orchid Room

I attended a baby shower here and the room was spacious with a beautiful view of the outdoor botanical gardens thru glass walls. The indoor plant conservatory was nearby and it's so pretty, even in dreary weather! You can tell the plants and fish are well cared for. Conservatory staff are really nice and the small gift shop has cute seasonal and butterfly knick knacks. Both the Orchid Room, indoor and outdoor gardens, and restrooms are all accessible for wheelchair users. The Orchid Room has a kitchen area for cooking and heating up food for big gatherings. If you reserve the Orchid Room, the usual $2 fee per person to see the indoor gardens is waived for your guests who attend which was really nice.

Our wedding there was perfect. We love the outdoors so having the ceremony in the gardens was what we were looking for. The outdoor butterfly house and indoor orchid rain forest atrium created wonderful pictures. The guests enjoyed the view and all there was to do. At night, the string lights over the gardens created such a nice ambiance. Most importantly, Big Show Catering did such a great job with the food. I think every guests told us how much the loved the food. They even made our wedding cake which came out even better then we imagined.

My wedding there was wonderful. The food was some of the best catered food I have ever had. The dessert was even included and we had our wedding cake and cupcakes made there. They were yummy! The dark chocolate was so moist and the icing was just as I asked for. We had a wine and mimosa bar with exotic juices and garnishes. That was a big hit. WE got to keep the leftovers and enjoyed them again. The staff was on top of everything before we even had to ask. I was able to enjoy the entire night. The guests loved touring the indoor atrium; it was very romantic and so were the outdoor gardens.

We had our wedding reception in the Orchid Room. All of the staff we encountered were incredibly helpful and friendly. Our guests really enjoyed exploring the nature preserve, and we got a lot of compliments regarding how beautiful the venue was. We are so happy with our choice! My cousin had her wedding here, such a beautiful event center! Food was outstanding, would’ve given it a 5 star but catering company was less that on the ball with follow up and return calls in the planning process. Overall everything was on point. Beautiful outdoor grounds for photos anytime of the year.

Gorgeous place for any type of bridal shower,or baby shower,or tea party. Clean facility. But they needed to supply soap near their sink in the kitchen area and the stove/oven isn't able to be used. The gardens area outside is perfect for pictures!!

Great lunch spot in the gardens and greenhouses of Lorain Metroparks in Avon. Delicious Salads, sandwiches, wraps and treats are offered at reasonable prices that can be enjoyed inside or out. A little gem in the Lorain county Metroparks. Also available for private parties. We recently had a wedding ceremony and reception there originally planned for outdoors. Unfortunately mother nature had other plans but the staff put together a plan B that in some ways was better than the original. We had the ceremony in the conservatory and the staff moved benches, plants, etc. to accommodate the guests. It was beautiful! The caterer (Big Show Catering ) set up the Orchid Room perfectly, handling all guests with room to dance and socialize. The food was OUTSTANDING! If you're on a budget or would rather forgo a large wedding, this is a perfect venue.

I attended an intimate wedding there. What a view! The gardens were amazing, and the indoor atrium was great for pictures. There was a live parrot in the orchid atrium that kept imitating peoples laughs; which made us laugh more! At night, the string bulb lights really set the ambiance. The food was so wondeful. It was the best roast beef, pasta, and salad; not the typical bland catered food.
